Sustainability

With our own actions, we want to be involved in creating a more sustainable clothing industry. Sustainability is a broad subject that covers many different areas.

Fashion- and textile industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world. Throwing clothes away and the single-use-clothing culture, fast fashion, constitutes the largest part of the environmental problem caused by the clothing industry. By extending the usage time of a single garment, the emissions could be reduced significantly.

Responsibly produced garments are more expensive than garments produced by fast fashion chains. It’s worth calculating the actual price of the garment by dividing it by the number of times you will use that piece of clothing. The shirt which falls apart after one summer will no longer be cheaper than the high quality shirt that will last for years.

Each garment is produced by hand in Finland. Our factories have been carefully selected to guarantee high quality standards. Our garments are produced in small batches so that the quality of the garments can be constantly monitored. We want to be involved in bringing the clothing industry back to Finland.

We do not create garments just for the sake of creating new. We carefully consider the purpose and need of each garment so that they last time. The design process is long and thoughtful, and we look for the best materials for each product and their use. The core of the design process is the versatility of the garments - the fact that the same outfit is suitable both for staying in and for a dinner at your favorite restaurant. By this, we want to reduce the single-use-clothing culture. We want our garments to be your forever favorites.

The productions quantities of each garment are very small to minimize waste and surplus. Leftover fabric waste is collected and given a new life. Our collections are small and we can not guarantee that a once sold out garment will be brought back.

Remember to be thoughtful when purchasing and consider the real need of each garment.

RESPONSIBLE PRICING

For us, sustainability means also responsible pricing. The price of our products is determined by genuine production costs. Responsible pricing guarantees that we can maintain high quality and sustainable production.

Our production volume is very minimal compared to bigger fashion brands. We produce thoughtfully in a high quality factory. Choosing to produce our garments in Finland is also more expensive than production elsewhere in Europe or Asia.

The more details the garment has, the more expensive it is to produce.

We have listed some examples below to help you understand what must be taken into consideration in the retail price of the product:
